The museum displays the findings of jeosite areas surrounding the city of Kızılcahamam. Among the basic goals of the museum is to give people consciousness about the value and beauty of the underground and overground treasures, promote them internationally and contribute to domestic and foreign tourism’s growth in the region through protection, research works and exhibitions. The museum also aims to create a consciousness among the people, especially the children about environmental threats.

The building of the Palace Kitchens, “Matbah-ı Amire” has been transformed into a museum at the end of the excavation and restoration processes started in 2009. A collection, dating between the 15th and 19th centuries and including ceramic, chinaware, glass and metal objects, is presented in the museum. The objects and audiovisual tools and texts are blended to narrate the story of food culture and habits of the palace people, administrative structure of the palace kitchens, ramadan rituals, fests and dinner parties organized in the palace and coffee culture.

The “resting place” and house of Osman Hamdi Beg, considered as constituent of the museology and archaeology of Turkey, has been restored as a museum. Contributions of Osman Hamdi to painting and museology has been narrated through the collection including first hand documents, photographs, digital copies, replicas, synthesis images, descriptive plans, schemes, monograms, maps, individual notes and letters.

Following the restoration, Sand Pavilion Bath, has been built by Sultan Mehmed II, was
transformed into a museum. The collection, including gravures, miniatures and objects, is approached thematically. The museum’s exhibition focused on the themes like Turkish baths, baths of Edirne, the baths in Ottoman architecture, bathing customs, production of soaps and the architecture of water.

Considering the peculiar forms of the space, a multilayered approach was created in showrooms. Designed in harmony with the Söğüt Museum, the historical period starting from the conquest of Istanbul to Republican Period is narrated in the museum through different media. The museum fills an important gap by developing a social history approach and a holistic approach to history.

The museum includes the archaeology and ethnography collections of the civilizations around Isparta starting from prehistory up to today. The collection was displayed in thematic and chronological order. The exhibits were enriched through audiovisual media and digital contents.

While the Museum is narrating the story of the communication tools, it is also designed as a communication tool itself. Thanks to the vast and rich radio collection granted by Ferit Akalın, the museum is unique among its similars. In the collection, while all the objects are repaired and in-service, they are also from many different countries and many different periods. The changing ways and tools of communication are told to the visitors via installations, interactive applications and documentary and animation films.
